The Specific Operations Risk Assessment SORA is a methodology developed by JARUS to support an operational authorisation in the Specific Category.
The Joint Authorities for Rulemaking of Unmanned Systems (JARUS) consists of a group of experts from 60+ countries, including representatives of national aviation authorities and regional aviation safety organizations, including the CAA, FAA and EASA.
The UK intends to implement SORA in due course, based on the upcoming version 2.5. Although that version 2.5. is not finalised yet, a first draft has been published and we have been informed of possible updates.
